Hi, I'm your instructor:

David Steinley

Here’s what you need to know about me

I've seen both sides of the table while working as a fractional CFO, meaning I know what it takes to find the right funding for the right business, and I know what it takes to run a fundraising process to successful completion. I'm going to show you how to do that too.

I've had the good fortune to work for many excellent startups and founders (YC and CDL graduates, Dragon's Den participants, Web Summit pitch winners) whom I've learned a tremendous amount from, while helping them raise $16M+.

I'm heavily involved in the startup ecosystem, particularly in Western Canada. I’ve hosted acclaimed raise-readiness trainings for 350+ founders across BC, Alberta, and Ontario, with support from 13 notable delivery partners.

I also write speculative fiction. And no, you can't find this published yet. But one day you will. For now, it's about the creative pursuit, and I'm lucky to find so many ways that the creative and business worlds overlap.

If you want to get to know me better, here's a few people I admire deeply:

check

Neri Oxman for her nature-centric approach to design.

check

Anthony Bourdain for staying authentic in the spotlight.

check

Esther Perel for real exceptionalism.

check

George Saunders for his loving approach to teaching.

check

Ben Howard for never selling out.

check

Pieter Levels for kicking ass as a solopreneur.
